KILLING HON. RIGATHI GACHAGUA WILL NOT SECURE YOUR SECOND TERM!
The recent threats and rumors of violence aimed at Hon. Rigathi Gachagua are deeply concerning and utterly unacceptable. We must make it clear: any attempt to kill or harm Gachagua is a grave criminal act that threatens the very foundation of our democracy and peace. Such actions are not mere violence—they are targeted assassinations that seek to silence a leader supported by many Kenyans across the country. We stand firm in condemning any plan or effort to eliminate him, as these are direct assaults on our collective will for a peaceful, lawful nation.
On Sunday, 18th, Rigathi Gachagua disclosed that there were sinister plans to eliminate him. He revealed that the President and the Security Cabinet Secretary had instructed officers from the National Intelligence Service to carry out his killing. Fortunately, Rigathi was in Gatanga, Murang’a County, and realized there was a plot to assassinate him. In a strategic move for his safety, he chose to use a different route, thereby avoiding the planned attack. This incident highlights the dangerous environment we face and the urgent need to uphold the rule of law and protect all citizens, especially our leaders.
The government must not resort to such heinous acts to cling to power or silence opposition. Threatening to kill a political leader is morally wrong, illegal, and highly destabilizing. It endangers everyone’s safety, undermines our democratic processes, and erodes the trust Kenyans have in their institutions. Leaders like Rigathi Gachagua enjoy genuine support from many Kenyans who seek change, development, and justice—no amount of intimidation or violence will silence their voices.
Kenya’s future depends on peaceful, lawful engagement and respect for human rights. The authorities must act decisively to investigate and prevent any plots of assassination or violence against political figures. We call on all Kenyans and government officials to prioritize peace, uphold the rule of law, and reject any form of violence, be it physical harm or threats to life.
Furthermore, the IEBC should not mess with the 2027 election results, and no one should lie to anyone that if elections are stolen there will be peace. The Election body (IEBC) must be independent and not be used by the sitting president to divert the will of the people. Transparent, fair, and credible elections are the backbone of our democracy, and attempts to manipulate or interfere with them threaten the stability and future of our nation.
Our history and the sacrifices of our ancestors remind us that violence and fear should never define our nation’s path forward. We demand a Kenya where democracy prevails, where leaders are chosen through free and fair elections, and where every citizen’s safety is guaranteed. Let us unite against any attempt to undermine our democracy through violence or threats, and instead build a future rooted in justice, development, and peace.
I personally stand for peace—we should all be committed to peace. No amount of fear or intimidation will deter us from moving forward on the path we have chosen. We only live once, and we only die once.
Remember, Ruto is a one-term president.
Paul Mwangi.
A peace-loving Kenyan.
