THIS IS MY MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF MAGARINI CONSTITUENCY.

Dear Magarini Residents,

I am Paul Kamau Mwangi, popularly known as Paul Mwangi alias PM. I was born and raised in Gatundu, Kiambu County, in the Republic of Kenya. Over the years, I have dedicated myself to serving the people and advocating for progress, both in my political journey and personal life.

My interest in politics began at a young age when I first contested for a youth leader position under the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) Youth League. Although I withdrew a few days before the election due to circumstances known only to me, that experience gave me an inside view of the political landscape. I traversed Gatundu constituency, often borrowing suits, money and cars from friends and relatives, and learned valuable lessons about resilience and dedication. That experience made me decide to step back from politics for a time, but my passion for service persisted.

Furthermore, during my early youth age I served as an Adviser for Information, Technology, and Youth (representing Gatundu South) to the then Kiambu County Governor Hon. William Kabogo (Current Cabinet Secretary of ICT). That experience strengthened my ability to serve and lead, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a committed leader.

Years later, I supported Wakili Kiarie Kamere, a former Deputy High Commissioner to the UK, in his campaign for Gatundu South MP. Kamere’s race against Moses Kuria was intense, and I was among his key supporters. Kamere promised me support in return for backing his withdrawal, but eventually, I realized that political promises often do not materialize.

I later contested for Gatundu South MP in 2017 under the Maendeleo Democratic Party, where I was the County Coordinator of the party in Kiambu County. Though I did not win, I accepted the outcome declared by IEBC and continued my work as County Coordinator for my party. Hon. Moses Kuria (former Cabinet Secretary and a seasoned politician) who was my senior competitor won the race and became Member of Parliament Gatundu South for the 2nd term. Though I was very young when I competed with him, I learnt a lot from him that has kept me going in my political journey.

In 2022, few months to the general elections, I withdrew from the race and I supported Former Kiambu Deputy Governor Joyce Ngugi’s bid for MP under the Azimio coalition. I withdrew obeying the request of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who asked me to withdraw and support one Azimio candidate to face off against the UDA candidate as my candidature then would split the vote for Azimio coalition parties. This was a decision I made after consultations with my key supporters, to uphold unity within our coalition. Unfortunately, we lost that election. During the same period, I supported Raila Odinga and Martha Karua as his deputy in the 2022 presidential election. That was my position then. However, I want to clarify that I am now a strong supporter of Hon Rigathi Gachagua and am actively campaigning for his presidential candidature in 2027. I am not ashamed of that fact and I personally believe in supporting leaders who are committed to Kenyans’ progress.

After the 2022 elections, I decided to step back from active politics and focus on my family and business. However, after relocating to Magarini in Kilifi County, I engaged with the community, sharing ideas on how to develop this vibrant constituency. Many people here young and old, men and women encouraged me to consider vying for leadership, and after much reflection, I have decided to accept that call once again.

I understand the challenges of Magarini—its vastness, its needs, and its potential. This constituency was once led by a good and respected person, Hon Amason Kingi, former Governor of Kilifi County and current Speaker of the Senate, who served as a Member of Parliament here a few years ago. I believe that the leadership here should acknowledge and honor him for his service and vision. I have interacted with many residents, young and old, and I know that this constituency deserves better. I am committed to working tirelessly for the progress of Magarini, respecting its diversity and wishes.

I am aware of the propagandas and misconceptions being spread—claims that I am a Kikuyu and I should only vie in Mt Kenya, that I am just starting in politics, that I am Gachagua's project, that I am a political broker, a political conman or that I am not a resident here. Let me clarify: I am a Kikuyu and I am aware there other different tribes living here in Magarini, The Giriamas, Kambas, Luhya, Luo, Kikuyus, Somalis, Oruma, Maasai to mention a few and if given a chance I will serve all tribes living here without discrimination. Secondly I am a Kenyan with the constitutional right to vie for any seat where I reside. I also have a constitutional right to support who I want. While I was born and raised in Gatundu, I now call Magarini my home. I have no intention to be distracted by false allegations; my focus is on serving the people of Magarini.

To those spreading propaganda, I urge you to respect the will of the people. They will decide through the ballot, and I am prepared to face any challenge. I believe in peaceful, democratic processes and in the intelligence of Magarini’s residents—they know what they want, and I am ready to work with them either way.

Come 2027, I will be vying for the seat again, using the DCP party when given a fair chance. If fairness is not guaranteed in DCP Party, I will explore other options provided I will be in the ballot, but my priority remains the will of the people. My supporters, please note, I will NOT be participating in the forthcoming by-elections but be assured that my name will be on the ballot in the August 2027 general elections. During this forth coming by-elections, I will NOT be supporting any candidate but I will allow the people of Magarini to decide who will lead them until 2027.

To the people of Magarini, I promise to respect your decision, work diligently, and stand firm against any intimidation or misinformation. Let us focus on development, unity, and progress.

It must be God's seed!

Siasa, Maendeleo na Kujituma!

Help me God.

Thank you.
