CONDEMNATION OF UNLAWFUL ACTIONS AND CALL FOR RESPECT FOR DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES.

Your Excellency President William Samoei Ruto,

I am a peace loving Kenyan and a DCP party member from Magarini Constituency, Kilifi County, and I write to you with deep concern and disappointment regarding the disturbing trend of intimidation, violence, and misuse of state machinery against dissenting voices in Kenya today.

It is profoundly troubling that the government continues to deploy tactics of fear and repression to silence opposition and suppress democratic expression. The recent reports of goons being sent to disrupt the launch of a new political party—DCP—led by Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, who is also vying for the presidency in 2027, are unacceptable and condemnable. Such acts of chaos, driven by fear of political competition and rising popularity, undermine the peaceful and democratic fabric of our nation.

Leadership based on humility, accountability, and integrity should not be characterized by brute force or intimidation. Instead, it requires respect for the rule of law, space for political competition, and acknowledgment that power is transient. The people of Kenya deserve leaders who prioritize development, justice, and unity above personal or political gains.

Furthermore, I am compelled to remind you of the serious allegations surrounding your involvement in the post-2007 violence, which led to your being taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC). While the case remains pending, it is imperative that your actions today are scrutinized, and that you do not repeat history’s dark mistakes. The international community and the Kenyan people are watching closely. It is vital that you exercise restraint and uphold the principles of justice and human rights.

Let me be clear: the era of intimidation and suppression must end. The people's will is sovereign, and they are tired of being silenced through fear and violence. The upcoming political process is a natural and peaceful transition that will be decided by the electorate. Attempts to sabotage this process only strengthen our resolve. We are prepared to stand firm—peacefully, prayerfully, and with unwavering determination—until justice and democracy prevail.

The current economic hardships have devastated many Kenyans, and instead of providing hope and solutions, the leadership appears indifferent. The people are suffering, and the situation demands urgent action, not repression. We cannot afford to be distracted by manipulative tactics when the fundamental issues of poverty, unemployment, and economic stagnation continue to worsen.

Your Excellency, I urge you to reflect on the gravity of your actions and reconsider the path of violence and intimidation. Kenya belongs to all of us, and no one individual or group should write its future through fear or force. Let the democratic process take its course. Let the people decide their destiny without coercion or violence.

The people have spoken—they are ready for change, and come 2027, they will send a clear message that leadership must be earned, not imposed. We are prepared to face whatever comes, but we insist that the rule of law and respect for human rights be upheld.

This is a serious matter. The future of Kenya depends on your response. I call upon you to cease all acts of repression and to embrace the true spirit of leadership—one rooted in humility, justice, and respect for the people's will.

Sincerely,

Paul Mwangi.

A Kenyan.
