Urgent Call for Action: Water Scarcity in Magarini Constituency.

Dear Residents of Magarini,

As I traverse the beautiful landscapes and vibrant villages in our beloved Magarini constituency, I have encountered an alarming concern that deeply affects the daily lives of our people: the acute shortage of piped water across many areas. My recent visits have highlighted the gravity of this issue, and I want to share my findings with you all.

Over the past few months, it has become increasingly evident that our public water outlets, commonly known as "vituo," have been consistently dry, leaving our residents to rely on private home water suppliers. While these private home suppliers have managed to keep their services running, selling water at exorbitant rates of KES 10-20 per 20-liter jerrican, many of our fellow citizens are unable to afford this option. Consequently, they are left with no choice but to resort to stagnant and unsanitary water from drying dams, exposing themselves and their families to numerous health risks.

This crisis is further compounded by alarming indications of sabotage that have disrupted our public water supply. It seems that certain individuals may be benefiting from these shortages, preventing our public water sources from functioning effectively. This manipulation of our vital water resources has left the general masses suffering, with those engaged in unethical practices profiting at the expense of our communities' health and well-being.

Water is the lifeblood of our communities; without it, the very fabric of our society is at risk. The absence of clean water in our villages is not just a matter of inconvenience—it is a crisis that jeopardizes the health, well-being, and prosperity of our people. Disease is knocking on our doors, and the worries are palpable among families struggling to access this essential resource. It pains me to witness our communities suffering when they should be thriving, and I assure you, I intend to address this issue head-on.

I am committed to engaging deeply with each of you—listening to your stories, understanding the struggles you face, and working collaboratively towards meaningful solutions. I will continue to visit various areas within Magarini, gathering updates and insights from residents, as this issue requires our collective effort and attention.

I urge our county government, led by Governor Hon. Gideon Mong’aro, to take immediate action to investigate this pressing matter of sabotage and ensure that our public water supply is restored. The people of Magarini have confidence in your leadership and ability to make a difference. Together, we can ensure that every resident has access to clean, affordable and safe water, restoring dignity and health to our communities.

I stand here with you, ready to advocate for change and committed to putting our concerns on the forefront until we achieve the necessary improvements for the benefit of all residents of Magarini. Let us unite in our quest for clean,safe and affordable water and a better future for every person in our constituency.
