I am thrilled to share that Kilifi-based international footballer Esse Akida, who proudly represents the Harambee Starlets, is set to launch her book titled "CHAINED"! This landmark event will take place on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at 2 PM at the Kenya National Library in Upper Hill, Nairobi.

Esse’s book shares her inspiring journey as a footballer, breaking barriers and setting new standards for women in sports. This is no ordinary book launch—it marks a historic moment as Esse becomes the first active female Kenyan footballer to publish a book and only the second Kenyan player overall, following in the footsteps of Allan Wanga.

As a proud resident of Magarini Constituency in Kilifi County, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Esse for her remarkable achievement! Your dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence are truly inspiring.
